I SEE DETROIT Tour Uses Education, History and Community 

to Inspire City Back To Greatness





I SEE DETROIT is a Fine Art turned community initiative designed to reach across Metro Detroit borders, cultures and age groups to foster a greater sense of community through exciting and innovative events. 



Shawn is the founder and owner of Shawn Lee Studios in Farmington Hills, MI. His "edgy punch it" style along with his energetic approach to photography have caused his photos to grace several Local, National and International media forums and publications. Shawn is a certified photography instructor for MPW International and official photographer for Brand Camp University national conferences. Shawn also travels the nation speaking at conferences and consulting companies and politicians on the importance of proper imagery.

Shawn’s most recent accomplishments include winning the “Spirit of Detroit” Award given by World Architecture News and Buro Happold, a global engineering firm in partnership with Detroit Works for Detroit's re-zoning project and travelling to London, England to have his Award winning photograph “Dawn of Detroit” exhibited in London’s famous West End for a four month stint in 2011. Shawn has also been named to the prestigious Speaker Team for Miller’s Lab & Mpix Pro, one of the largest professional photography labs and entities in the world.

Along with being an artist, photography instructor and entrepreneur, Shawn has been highly involved in the service of community for over 16 years. Shawn works with several elementary and middle schools as a mentor and does countless school programs and career days. Shawn also serves as a board member for the Oakland County Employment Diversity Council, Teen H.Y.P.E. and Future Focused. Shawn is also the founder and director of "I SEE DETROIT", his Fine Art turned community initiative highlighting the "Beauty, Energy, Diverseness and never die attitude of Detroit and Detroiters", which also features the annual I SEE DETROIT Tour that facilitates events across local borders and cultures highlighting the rich history of the of Detroit.  

Shawn is former Co-host of the popular radio show Community Driven which aired every Saturday morning at 8am on WLQV AM1500 Salem Communications. It focused on local initiatives, organizations, people and businesses that had positive impact on community with a very lively and upbeat approach.
